Crowd monitoring sensor types

The Crowd Monitoring Decision Support System analyzes data that is being gathered by a wide range of digital sensors. In the CityFlows project the following sensors will be tested:

  • Automatic counting & flow/speed/density detection systems
  • Wi-Fi & Bluetooth sensors
  • GPS trackers and smartphone applications that provide location information
  • RFID sensing techniques

For each of these sensor types the data that is being gathered is further elaborated upon. You can reach the information by clicking on the buttons below. We have attempted to summarize all essential information regarding the functioning of the technique. Please note that the information regarding the setup of the sensing networks of the four living labs is displayed on the pages featuring the living labs. If you cannot find the answer to your questions underneath, feel free to contact the CityFlows partners.
